History

In
1984 Henningsen Nederland bv was founded by Henningsen Foods Inc. a well reputable producer of Dehydrated egg and meat products in the USA. The import restrictions of the expanding European Union made it necessary to do so in order to continue to supply the European market with their Dehydrated meat products.
Henningsen Nederland bv started as a compact production unit for air dried meats in a newly built factory with a plant manager and 8 employees.
From
1984 to 1991, the company grew gradually to 15 employees. There was partly assistance of Van den Burg Eiproducten, for administration and laboratory, and of Henningsen Foods Inc. for technical and commercial matters. During this period, in
1989, Henningsen Food Inc., till then a family owned company, was taken over by QP, the biggest mayonnaise producer of Japan.

In
1992 Henningsen Nederland bv became more independent with the installation of its own specially designed spray dryer and the extension of the organisation to include administration and sales.
In the period from
1992 to 1999 there was further growth, resulting in a company with 35 employees. Because of this growth, in the years
2001 to 2004 the company needed to expand with additional warehousing, a new office building and reconstruction of the employee facilities.
In
2007 2 producers of Dehydrated meat products in Europe discontinued their production. This change in the market resulted for Henningsen Nederland bv in a explosive increase of its’ activities.
This resulted in a further growth of the number of employees to 45 people.
Because of the fact that QP, the owner of Henningsen Food Inc., wanted to focus on their core business only; egg products to use in mayonnaise, they decided to sell Henningsen Nederland bv. In
June 2008 4 people of the current management of the company acquired, through a MBO, all shares of the Henningsen Nederland bv.
